The Italian category B theory test asks 30 true or false statements in 20 minutes, and a candidate passes with at most 3 errors. This simulator copies the format, the time, the threshold and the 30-cell sheet; unanswered questions count as errors. After submitting it shows where the marks went, links each mistake to the rule and lets you retest the mistakes straight away. The 432 original statements cover 20 exam topics.

Are you ready for the exam?

No data yet. Take one full mock exam and the picture starts from there.

How this is worked out

Ready: at least 5 full mock exams, the last 3 all within 3 errors, all 20 topics with at least 10 answers, and none below 80% over its last 20 answers.

Almost ready: both mock criteria are met, the topic criteria are not.

Only full sheets in real mode count as mocks. Practice mode, mistake retests and mistakes-only sheets update topics but not the mock record.

These are thresholds chosen by this site to give a cautious signal. They are not an official measure and do not guarantee a pass. The data stays on this device.

How does the real theory test work?

The exam sheet holds 30 statements. For each one the candidate marks true or false, with no option to leave a blank: a missing answer counts as an error. The time allowed is 20 minutes in total, about 40 seconds per statement. The pass mark is no more than 3 wrong answers.

The test is taken on a computer at a Motorizzazione office or at an authorised driving school. The result appears as soon as the session ends.

Which topics does the exam cover?

The syllabus covers signs, rules of conduct, basic mechanics and safety. The table lists the topics this question bank is built on.

Exam topics covered by the simulator and number of statements available. The ministry catalogue groups its questions into 25 topics; this simulator merges them into 20 areas without leaving any out. The official list is in the guide to the exam topics.

How many errors are allowed?

Three. The fourth error is a fail. The simulator applies the same rule and reports the verdict together with the error count, the time used and a score for every topic, so the weakest area is easy to spot.

How many attempts are there?

The licence application is valid for six months and allows two attempts at the theory test. At least one month must pass between the first and the second. After a second failure a new application is needed. The foglio rosa is a different document: it is issued after the theory is passed, lasts twelve months and covers the practical test.

Are the sign images the official ones?

No. The signs shown beside some statements are original illustrations, drawn from the shapes and colours prescribed by the Codice della Strada implementing regulation. They are not reproduced ministry files. The real exam shows a figure alongside many statements, so the simulation does the same, with its own artwork.

Are these the official ministry quiz questions?

No. The 432 statements on this page are original, written from the official exam topics and from the Italian Highway Code (legislative decree 285/1992). None of them is taken from a commercial question bank. The aim is to train reasoning about the rules, not to memorise a closed list.

Getting the most out of the simulator

  • Sit the whole test without pausing the clock, to get used to the real pace.
  • Flag uncertain statements and check them on the review sheet before submitting.
  • Read the explanation for every error: that is where targeted revision starts.
  • Repeat on different days, since each session draws a different sheet.

Up to 3 errors out of 30. The fourth error means a fail and the test has to be taken again.
